I just saw Roger Waters perform The Wall Live on Wednesday and it was UNBELIEVABLE!!! I am embedding The Trial and the wall being torn down. Was a very good show!!

I'm starting college this fall at the York campus in Toronto at Seneca for Computer Programmer and I can't wait! I'm really excited. I just had my tour of the college last week and I'm really excited. The campus is HUGE!!! There's a mall and everything right in the campus. Me just getting out of high school, I was so shocked at seeing... well, everything right there. It's awesome :) I'll be focusing on C, C++ and Java for languages and I'll be working in Windows, Linux and IMB environments. I'm moving up to Toronto from Brockville on the 17th of August to get settled and I can't wait to move.

Not sure if anyone else here is open source, but I decided to make the switch to use open source software instead of commercial-based software. I use Ubuntu as my main OS and being an avid user, decided to migrate the Ubuntu way right on Windows by using many open source alternatives. I'm sure a lot of users here don't use Linux, but I for one do, and I will always stand by the Ubuntu philosophy:

"A person with Ubuntu is open and available to others, affirming of others, does not feel threatened that others are able and good, for he or she has a proper self-assurance that comes from knowing that he or she belongs in a greater whole and is diminished when others are humiliated or diminished, when others are tortured or oppressed."

For anyone interested in using open source software, here are a few links to great sites with alternatives to pretty much any software out there, for free. No, I am not linking you to pirated software. I am linking you to open source, free and legal software.

alternativeTo - Alternative Programs for Windows, Mac, Linux, Mobile

Finally, after corrupting my Windows 7 partition during installation of Ubuntu 10.04, I guess Linux decided it didn't want to dual-boot after all :D So I deleted Windows and installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and I must say, there has definitely been a lot of improvements and awesome features. A few of the main features I like are:

1) Support for the iPhone 3GS / iPod Touch in it's out-of-box state. I even tested this out via LiveCD and I tried Ubuntu before installing it. Connected my iPhone 3GS to the computer and boom, iPhone icon on desktop and I could see it in Rhythmbox. Haven't yet tried to put songs on / off of iDevice yet.

2) Social integration has made it's appearance and it's so easy. There is a second menu-bar right next to the shutdown bar and you can add Facebook, Twitter, etc. to it and get notifications. Also, the Envelope icon next to the date/time icon lets you access your chats and Twitter / Facebook networks. It's very cool :)

And yeah, haven't played around a lot yet, just got it all setup after 2 hours. Very impressed none the less :)

I'm REALLY exited for the newest LTS release of Ubuntu 10.04 coming this Thursday. The new theme looks amazing and I've heard awesome new features, such as out-of-the-box support for the iPhone, 3GS & iPod Touch!!! Awesome news :)

Anyone else really stoked about the upcoming performances of Rush and Pink Floyd?!?! I am REALLY excited and I hopefully will be able to see them. If I can't see both, I'll definitely choose Pink Floyd as I already saw Rush for their Snake and Arrows 2010 tour, which was awesome :)

Anyone else going?

FINALLY got an iPhone 3GS. Got some money from Xmas and went out to Bell and bought this bad boy. Must say, I'm very pleased with it. I jailbroke it using blackra1n, however, it is a TETHERED jailbreak, meaning it needs to be connected to a computer and run the exploit each time you reboot/turn it off. Pain, but most things I can do without rebooting. Overall, I'm very pleased with my phone :)
